Enlightening Relationships is unique in its in-depth dialogue between preeminent representatives from both traditions, and between the panelists and the audience. While many conferences and books have explored the interface of Buddhism and psychoanalysis, this conference breaks new ground in asking presenters and participants to take the conversation further. After establishing a shared foundation, the program unfolds through extemporaneous exchanges among speakers and with the audience. Our goal is to broach difficult topics in an atmosphere of engaged dialogue in order to open a fresh understanding of our most cherished and vulnerable relationships to each other, to ourselves, and to life.
