Educational Objectives:
- To further the conceptual and practical conversation between psychoanalysis and Buddhism by discussing in-depth the relational concepts and practices that deepen our understanding of human suffering and renewal.
- To define and explain the similarities and differences in concepts of self, selves, no-self and other aspects of subjectivity in the two traditions.
- To clarify and refine the importance of working through harmful, confusing or traumatic disruptions in personal, family, therapeutic and teaching relationships.
- To discern and illuminate the complexities that surround intersubjective barriers, biases, and impasses.
Continuing Educational Accreditations:
Psychologists
Institute of Conteporary Psychoanalysis is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. ICP maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Psychologists attending this program in its entirety may report 10.5 hours of Mandatory Continuing Education for Psychologists Credit. .
Social Workers & MFTS
This course meets the qualifications for 10.5 hours of Continuing Education Credit for MFTs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (Provider #PCE7).
